Each of these Seven Deadly Sins moves us farther away from God. To get caught up in them means we are the center of our world, rather than the Lord.

Examples of how we demonstrate the Seven Deadly Sins at work include: Sloth... Not giving our best effort.

Anger / Wrath... Allowing our temper to get the better of us and taking our frustrations out on others.

Greed... We want more, more, more.

Lust... Desire for another person when we’re already attached, as well as a desire for power

Gluttony... Workaholism is a form of gluttony.

Envy... When we want what others have, we’re not satisfied with what God has given us.

Pride... The worst of all. The root of all evil. It means we think we’re more important than God and we act as though we don’t need him. We don’t see how everything we are and everything we have is because of him.



Don't be like the Pharisees and Scribes

Jesus called the Pharisees and Scribes hypocrites because what they said was inconsistent with what they did. In other words, they didn’t “walk the talk.”

There are so many times when we don’t walk our talk either.
