" For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there."

James 3:26(NKJV)

We envy the co-worker who got the job we wanted. We envy the money our boss makes. We envy the connections that someone else has. We envy the plum assignments a coworker gets.

When we envy others we’re telling God we don’t value what He’s given us. Rather than spending time improving / growing the talents He’s given us, we waste time wishing we had what others have.

This separates us from God in several ways. It says to Him that:

• We know what’s best for us…He doesn’t.

• We value those things we want more than what He’s given us.

• Things are more important to us than following His word and Jesus’ teaching.

Is envy taking over your heart?

"Can you spare 7 minutes for God?"
