"How Can You Show Your Love to God Every Single Day?"
How do we demonstrate we truly love the Lord? How do we show Him that we love Him with all our heart, all our soul, and all our mind? And how do we do this 24-hours a day? How do we make our faith the focal point of our lives and how do we do this when we’re at work? Here are 7 general things that we all do to and for people we love. We can apply these same behaviors to our relationship with God with just a little extra thought and effort.
Say “thanks.” We thank someone for taking a message for us, for finding something we lost, and helping us with a project. We say “thanks” all day to people we like, to those we love, and even to those we don't like very much.
How often do we say "Thanks" to God?
Give gifts. We give gifts to lots of people. People we like and those we love. The gift often represents the type of relationship we have with the person.
What gift can you give the Lord?
Talk to them. We talk to people we care about pretty regularly. We call. We email. We keep in touch. But there are those we love who we think “I really need to talk to them more often…”
Do you talk to God enough?
Ask for their opinion and advice. We ask those we care about for their opinion and advice on lots of things. We ask what they think we should do. We consider their recommendations and often take action based on their advice…
When's the last time you asked Him for guidance?
Speak affectionately. We call friends by their nicknames. We call someone we love "honey." We tell them how nice they look and what a good job they did.
How do you use God's name?
Consider their feelings. We keep friends and family in the forefront of our mind. We often consider their preferences and wants over our own. We go to a movie we'd rather not see because they want to. We go to a restaurant we're not crazy about because they like it.
Do you keep the Lord top of mind?
Forgive them. People do stupid stuff all the time. They say something thoughtless and do something without thinking. But we manage to forgive them.
Do you hold a grudge against Him?
